Tsar Nicholas II is a character of Anastasia.

Nicholas II was the father of Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia, and Alexei. The last Czar of Russia, the legacy of the Romanov family ended with his reign. Though he was a loving father and husband, he disliked politics and trusted too many important decisions to officials who abused their power. Consequently, his efforts intended to help the impoverished Russian population failed and people began to resent the wealth of our family.

Though he was a kind and caring man, but he was not a very good leader. It's been said that long before he was dethroned, the pressure of the growing unrest in Russia left him with a severe dislike of politics and politicians. Some felt he neglected the important responsibilities of his job in favor of spending time with his family.

In order to heal his ailing son, he invited the monk Rasputin to the palace. However, Rasputin soon betrayed them and was exiled to Siberia. The monk returned and cursed the family, using his dark powers to incite the unhappy people of Russia to revolution. Nicholas and his family, save his youngest daughter, were assassinated in a siege of the Catherine Palace during the revolution.
